Le Président
Jan Wind joined the Netherlands Navy in 1973. He specialized in electronic engineering at the Royal Netherlands Naval College and information systems at the Technical University of Delft. In 1990 Jan followed the Advanced Staff Course at the Naval Staff College and the International Relations course at the Clingendael Institute.
During his 35-year career as officer in the Netherlands Navy he led numerous national and international projects at the Netherlands Ministry of Defence to establish new capabilities for the Netherlands armed forces. Often in international cooperation. Among his many positions were “Director of naval weapon and communication systems” and “Director of R&D and knowledge transfer for the armed forces” and “Financial controller of naval materiel”.
Retired from the Navy Jan Wind joined the Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers (KIVI) and is a.o. chairman Defence and Security of the association. Connected to that position is his role as President of the Federation of European Defence Technology Associations (EDTA).
He also established WISER Consultancy. The company is focusing on innovation in funding for defence using debt and equity instruments.

Bart Brouwers is a secretary at CAOP, in which capacity he supports reorganisations and Human Ressources processes at the Dutch Ministry of Defense. He has completed his Bachelor in History from the University of Amsterdam, and Master in International Relations in Historical Perspective from the University of Utrecht. During his studies his primary focus was on laying connections between historically developed national identities and contemporary European politics. After his studies he became a member of Eurodefense Netherlands in 2020 and secretary not long after. Besides this he is also active as editor for VN Forum, the magazine of the Dutch Association for the United Nations, and policy contributor to the political party Volt.
