On the invitation by EuroDéfense-Deutschland, the second meeting in 2024 of the EURODEFENSE Council of Presidents has met in Berlin at PricewaterhouseCoopers Building on 18 November from 09:30 to 12:00.
This Council has been very fruitful.
EuroDéfense-Luxembourg has been re-established with the participation of its new secretary general, colonel (ret) Frédéric Miquel.
EuroDéfense-Czechia has been created by Mr Vojtěch Janoušek, present at this Council.
From now the network counts then 16 chapters.
Regarding the activities, the Council has endorsed a report on the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP), produced by the Working Group on A comprehensive approach regarding the procurement of new equipment in the EU. This report has then been sent to the EU institutions and national authorities.
The former Working Group on EU Policy will start again on a new mandate, focusing on the institutions, chaired by EuroDéfense-Nederland.
A new Working Group on a Strategic European Defence, co-chaired by EuroDéfense-France and UK, will start soon, after approval of its mandate by the Council before the end of the year.
Lastly, the Council has endorsed the transfer of the secretariat general from EuroDéfense-France to EuroDéfense-Portugal, which will start officially on 1st January 2025.
